Great Performance Series 2007

SEMISCON - VOICES GONE WILD

Presented by Taiwan Center Foundation and TUF

Sat. May 19 at 8:00 p.m. at FORD Amphitheatre, Hollywood, CA

Winner of Austria's International A Cappella Competition and Asia's top music award, this "east meets west" ensemble whirls movie themes, Taiwanese melodies, golden oldies and pop favorites into a spellbinding array of sound and motion.

This concert will be presented in celebration of Taiwanese American Heritage Week as part of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Semiscon, Taiwan’s award-winning vocal ensemble, was founded in the autumn of 2001. It is made up of a group of friends who first met at the "All-musical Chorus", which was the pioneering musical company in Taiwan. The members trained in voice, dance, and theatrical performance as they studied and worked in such varied fields as medical research, computer engineering, film/animation editing, business, and education. Their diverse work and life experiences, combined with their endearing friendships with each other and their shared passion for music, make them a one-of-a-kind musical ensemble.

In 2004, Semiscon shocked the world by winning the International A Cappella Competition in Austria.

Semiscon will be coming to Los Angeles on May 19, 2007 at the Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood, CA.
